Printable Creations | Most Brilliant Color

When adult coloring books gained popularity, it made me really happy because I now feel less weird about still enjoying coloring in a coloring book. It is such a good way to relax and unwind. (I have multiple large packs of Crayola crayons and they just make me happy) When I saw this quote, I loved the idea of it.

“Be the most brilliant color in the box.”

There are so many colors in the big Crayola packs. Each has a different name and color makeup. No two colors in a box are the same. It is the same for people. Everyone is unique and has unique talents and gifts they bring to world. Embrace those talents and gifts and be different. Stand out in the sea of crayon colors. Be the most brilliant color in the box.

Each week I design and post a new Printable Creation that will be available for free to my readers. You can subscribe below to get this week's and all future Printable Creations in your inbox every Wednesday.

Printable Creations | Most Brilliant Color

This printable took not looking at it more several days for inspiration to come. As you see in the image above, my first idea didn’t look as good in Illustrator as it had on paper. I didn’t like how it was turning out. So I started playing with the different elements, simplifying and adding elements to see if it looked better. Taking the thick strokes off  of “most”, “color”, and “box” made it look much cleaner and more readable. Removing the thick strokes from "box" also took the emphasis off the word (which I realized worked better).

I wanted the word “brilliant” to stand out, but the rainbow of color wasn’t looking right. Rewriting the word with a thick brush and in all caps kept the emphasis without having to deal with color. I didn’t want to push one color as being the most brilliant so I left “brilliant” white but kept the “shine lines” on each end of the word. My next changes dealt with the crayon box. I experimented with increasing the size of the crayon box, which I liked, but then too much of the box was hidden. Removing the box altogether and just having the crayons across the bottom of the page kept the look I wanted without too many elements. Hope you enjoy the printable!

Each Printable Creation will only be available until the next Wednesday when I post a new printable. But the printable won't be gone forever! Once a new week rolls around and I post a new printable, I add the previous printable to my Etsy shop.
