Printable Creations | Pure Heart

I have been going through the books of the bible with my youth on Wednesdays and we have made it to the prophet books at the end of the Old Testament. The main messages of all the prophets is that the Israelites will be taken into exile but God is going bring them back to Jerusalem and send a messianic king to save all the nations. Throughout the Israelite's history, their hearts had gotten hard and they stopped listening and obeying God. And so God wants to give them all figurative heart transplants. He wants to take their hearts of stone and give them soft new hearts that are full of the Holy Spirit. We still today need figurative heart transplants from God and that is what this verse is talking about:

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” -Psalm 51:10

Life gets hard and we let our heart get hard, too. So we need to let the Holy Spirit in to transform our hearts back to God.

Each week I design and post a new Printable Creation that will be available for free to my readers. You can subscribe below to get this week's and all future Printable Creations in your inbox every Wednesday.
