Printable Creations | Be Silly

FeaturedImage_BeSilly.jpg

When my husband and I were unpacking after moving into our newest apartment, he found my Nerf gun that I had gotten in college and all the darts. All in good fun, he started randomly sneaking up on me and shooting the darts at me. Well, I only have one gun so I wasn’t able to shoot back, but I would throw them back at him. And now there are Nerf darts all over our apartment, and most probably won’t be found until we move. Having a Nerf dart war is a fun break from reality. You can be silly and laugh and have no worries for a little while...other than the stings from getting hit by a Nerf dart.

“Be silly. Be honest. Be kind.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

I believe these three sentiments from Emerson are very important to having a great life. And he put them so simply. Do those three things and life will have a harder time getting you down. When it does though, it helps to have a Nerf dart fight with your friends.

Each week I design and post a new Printable Creation that will be available for free to my readers. You can subscribe below to get this week's and all future Printable Creations in your inbox every Wednesday.

While working on the printable this week, the biggest challenge was figuring out the best color scheme. I try not to use the same colors so I have a variety in my work. And like many parts of my other Printable Creations, the color scheme came out of experimenting on my computer with the sketch. I would choose a background color and use it as the base of the scheme and then try out the other colors in the scheme. Adobe Illustrator has a color window that shows you the different color schemes based on the selected color with tints and shades of each of the colors. I kept trying different things, but none of the schemes were looking right. When I finally found the blue combination I used, it came together. Unlike last week’s creation, this week didn’t have a color scheme that immediately came to mind. I didn’t see it with certain colors. I just had to keep experimenting until I found the right ones.

Hope you enjoy this week’s printable!

Each Printable Creation will only be available until the next Wednesday when a new printable is posted. But the printable won't be gone forever! Once a new week rolls around and I post a new printable, the previous printable is added to my Etsy shop.
